// Ouroboros //
Steel
1’ x 1’
2015
Ouroboros represents the constant of making and working. Of finishing and starting new. Of living and dying. Ouroboros exists in neither
beginning nor ending, the finish depends on the start and vice versa. This piece represents challenge and exists only by strength of will. Working with hundreds of individually cut and welded together pieces of steel, Ouroboros is both meditative and frustrating. The comfort and discomfort both were necessary to its creation.
// Raven //
Bronze
9” x 4”
2014
Cast in bronze, Raven is a juxtaposition of life and death. Raven’s wings are feathered, each line of each feather individually carved—Raven’s wings speak to motion and life while underneath the feathers is bone and inevitability.
