I use my work to try and learn as much as I can about material, process,and design. Finding a lot of inspiration in James Krenov’s work, I came upwith a basic design for a cabinet. The design allowed for me to learn moreabout form, structure, and the movement of wood. I wanted more thanjust a square piece and was able to explore different methods of shaping,carving, and finishing to add more depth to different parts of the cabinet,including the carving on the door, proud joints of the box, and subtle shaping of the legs.
