On Tuesday May 3, we had a workshop on Wood + Metal Finishing by master craftsman Tom Henscheid. Some of his recent work (including a custom dining room table, coffee table, and massive steel stairway panels...that had to be delivered via crane barge) was featured in this weeks Seattle Times Pacific NW Magazine. He teaches woodturning at Pratt Fine Arts Center, and will conduct a week long workshop at the Port Townsend School of Woodworking this September.
There were samples to look at, demos, and even time to talk one-on-one. Among other things, Tom talked about Safety, Environmental Concerns, Brush Respect and Maintenance, and How to Fix Your Mistakes Since You Waited Until Almost the Last Minute.
